HELEN COLLE DONALDSON HOLLERS (1908 -2013) Served 43 years and 9 presidents as a White House staff member. She began government service at the Dept. of Agriculture as an industrial specialist in the Oilseeds Division thru WW II. When the National Security Act of 1947 created the National Security Resources Board, she joined that group as administrative assistant to the 1st chairman, Arthur M. Hill. When he resigned, Dr. John R. Steelman, Assistant to President Truman, invited her to join the White House staff as his administrative assistant. After the 1952 election, she stayed on to assist in the transition, following which she joined the staff of Bernard M. Shanley, who became Appointments Secretary to President Eisenhower. When Thomas E. Stephens returned to that post, she stayed on and remained in Presidential Appointments and Scheduling until retiring at the end of George H.W. Bush’s administration in 1993.”
